Steelhead fishing is on!

The last week has been great to be on the river. Although the sun has helped warm the water, having very clear water has not made it easy to catch steelhead. This coming week will be a good one and anyone who wants to fish needs to book this week. Since the weir is not under operation, this snow melt and expected rain will surely bring steelhead upriver and the winter fish that are here will be spawned and gone. This is not going to be like any year in the past ten. Steelhead are going to arrive quickly and be gone as fast as they come and I don’t forsee any steelhead left here in May whatsoever. There is no reason for them to be here since they won’t be held up downstream by the weir. Book your fishing trips now, or miss out.
